When 16 year old Katniss Everdeen becomes a tribute in The Hunger Games she takes it as a death sentence. I mean 24 kids from 12-18 fighting to the death with only 1 survivor. How would an girl that only knows how to hunt animals win? With the help of Peeta Mellark of course. Fellow district twelve tributes are surprisingly hard to kill. Just maybe they could come home?
The Hunger Games is very violent and is not good for people who get a very vivid image in their hard while reading.
The Hunger Games is a great book. When Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sisters place in the Hunger Games she has no hope of winning. But Katniss has to try to make it home for her sister.
I finally read the book and enjoyed it. It was not as gory as I thought it would be. I liked focusing on the strategies used to play the game and not so much the killing part. It is the kind of book that you can't put down. You want to read on to find out what happens. I was disappointed with the ending. Now I can't wait to read Catching Fire.
