City of Bones is about a young girl named Clary who can see things no one else can. One day on her way to her favorite club she witnessed a murder, but before she could contact the police the body disappeared! Clary is sure she is hallucinating but after seeing the blond murderer again she is not so sure. Later she finds out about the Shadow hunters, a race dedicated to ridding the world of demons. After her mom was kidnapped the Shadowhunters want to know, why do demons have a sudden interest in Clary and her mom. Clary is not sure but, is her mom keeping secrets from her?
