This book is about a boy named Palmer LaRue he knows that at ten years old, boys in his village have to be wringers, but Palmer does not want to be one. Worse still he actually has a pet pigeon. All of Palmers friends hate pigeons and want to wring every pigeon. Can Palmer hide his pigeon friend and worry about being a wringer.

Palmer LaRue has a hard time with his new friends. With his 10th birthday coming up he has to face the treatment yet again. He even has to hide his unusual pet from his friends. On top of that, he is also at the age to be classified as a wringer. Later he found out that his dad was something he did not find believable. Can Palmer juggle all of this madness? Find out for yourself.
